Ractopamine is an adrenergic beta-agonist which is banned from use as a feed additive. The anti-ractopamine antibody is produced in rabbit using ractopamine-KLH conjugates and affinity purified using ractopamine-agarose. The antibody was proven to be useful for detection and quantization of ractopamine in ELISAs and gold colloidal strip systems.
